1. What are functions in Microsoft excel? How are they different from formulas used in Excel?
Ans: A function is a predefined formula in Excel, which does quick computations for a specified range of values.
                    Excel includes many common function that can be used to do calculations quickly,like finding the sum , average , maximum value and minimum value for a range of cells.

2. State what results will the following functions give:
Ans:
a) =SUM(A1:F1) : this function will give the sum of the numbers of the cell from A1 to F1.
b) =MAX(B1:B10) : This function helps us to find the largest number from the cell  B1 to B10.
c) = AVERAGE (C6:H6): This function will let us to find out the average of range of cells from  C6 to H6.
d)=COUNT(A9:Z9) : This function helps us to find the physical count of entries in a range of cells from A9 to Z9.
